Kollywood’s very own Suriya has an enviable line-up of films over the coming years, and that could be an interesting phase in his career. First off, come October, is the much-anticipated fantasy drama “Kanguva” that has raised curtains of curiosity among the fans and critics alike. While Suriya is gearing up for this big release, he is simultaneously juggling the shoot of his 44th movie, directed by ace filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. The film, tentatively titled “Suriya44,” will have an all-new storyline, coupled with the quirky treatment of its director, Karthik.
Once Suriya is done with his commitment to “Suriya44,” he will be teaming up with critically acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran for the long-awaited period action drama “Vaadivaasal,” for which the shooting is still awaited since its official announcement.

However, the project had been postponed since last year due to various scheduling conflicts and the ongoing commitments of the lead actor and the director. Recent reports hint that “Vaadivaasal” will go on floors this January or February of next year. By that time, Suriya would have completed the shooting of “Suriya44,” while Vetri Maaran will be done with “Viduthalai Part 2.”
Adding more steam to it, the most popular actress among Tamil cinema, Andrea Jeremiah, is reportedly going to join hands as the female lead in this film. The movie is being produced by Veteran Tamil producer Kalaipuli S Thanu himself, who produces many quality films. Adding the musical depth for this high-budget entertainer is none other than the acclaimed music director GV Prakash Kumar. “Vaadivaasal” assures one of the grand cinematic experiences for this Christmas 2025.
