Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Urges Film Industry to Help Fight Drug Abuse

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy spoke about the Telugu film industry’s role in fighting drug abuse and cybercrime. He mentioned that filmmakers often ask the government to raise ticket prices for big budget movies but do not help enough to spread awareness about these issues.

Revanth Reddy has now directed officials to make it a rule that filmmakers must give a one or two minute video to the government, promoting awareness on drugs and cybercrime, whenever they request ticket price hikes. He suggested that these videos could feature the film’s cast. This is a common practice in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, where ticket prices are sometimes increased with government permission after a movie’s release.

Revanth Reddy praised Chiranjeevi for providing a video against narcotics and asked the police commissioners in Cyberabad and Rachakonda to request similar videos from filmmakers when they apply for shooting permits. He also proposed that cinema owners should show these short films for free before the main movie starts to promote awareness.

Revanth Reddy emphasized the serious impact of drug addiction on families and society. He assured that the state government is committed to fighting narcotics and cybercrime. He encouraged police officers to work effectively, promising promotions for those who perform well. Reddy concluded by saying that police should create fear among cyber criminals and drug suppliers to keep Telangana safe.
