Telangana’s Assembly Elections are at their peak, with the Election Commission (EC) making extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth polling process. The state has seen a meticulous orchestration of election management, with a budget of Rs. 150 crore allocated for this purpose. Measures are in place to prevent any undue influence on voters, including raids to seize unaccounted cash, alcohol, jewelry, and other materials.

In terms of voter demographics, the state has 3,26,02,799 registered voters, including 1,62,98,418 male voters, 1,63,01,705 female voters, and 2,676 transgender voters. A total of 2,290 candidates are contesting for 119 Assembly seats. The state has set up 35,655 polling centers, including 644 model polling stations for a smooth voting experience. Special arrangements have been made for differently-abled individuals, including 21,686 wheelchairs and free transportation for 80-year-old voters. Braille slips and sample ballots are available for visually impaired voters.

A substantial force of 1,85,000 personnel has been deployed at polling booths to oversee the process, along with 22,000 micro observers. There are 597 polling centers managed entirely by women and 120 operated by differently-abled individuals. Polling begins at 7 AM in 13 sensitive districts and concludes at 4 PM, while in 106 other districts, voting continues until 5 PM.

To ensure security during the elections, an extensive security arrangement has been put in place. This includes deployment of over 50,000 police personnel, including 18,000 from the Hyderabad City Police. The Cyberabad Police has deployed 12,000 personnel, and the Rachakonda Commissionerate has deployed 5,000 personnel for election duty. Additionally, the Hyderabad Police have set up 330 mobile patrolling teams and 330 striking forces to deal with any untoward incidents. The police are also utilizing 330 body-worn cameras and 660 vehicle-mounted cameras for surveillance and monitoring purposes.
