At the Telangana Global AI Summit 2024, the Telangana government has announced that 46 agreements have been secured so far. On the first day, 21 agreements were finalized, and today, 25 more were signed. The government has been focusing on developing Telangana into an AI powerhouse, aligning these agreements with its development goals. Notably, agreements have been reached in seven key areas: computer infrastructure, centers of excellence, skilling, startup innovation, generative AI, research and collaboration, and data annotation.
As part of the summit, a new AI data center is set to be established in Hyderabad by a leading company. This center will start with 4,000 high-performance GPUs and is planned to expand to 25,000 GPUs in the future. As part of the agreement, six months of free access to 1,000 GPU hours will be provided to CIDAC, Param Siddhi-AI, and Irovate T-AIMS, which will help reduce costs and encourage AI innovations in critical sectors.

The Telangana government has also signed agreements with Path and Nazara Technologies to set up a Center of Excellence for AI development. Additionally, agreements with Next Wave, Microsoft, and Amazon aim to advance digital content innovation, health, sports, and skills development, benefiting around 250,000 students and professionals.
To enhance e-governance and citizen services, Telangana has also partnered with Meta, which will improve government departments and agencies’ capabilities using AI technologies, including the LLaMA 3.1 model and other open-source generative AI technologies.
