Telangana Govt & Amgen Biotech Pact to Create 3,000 Jobs

The biggest biotechnology company in the US, Amgen, is preparing to increase its operations in Telangana, India. It has announced a new Research and Development division that it is setting up in Hyderabad. The center is set to be accommodated in a six-story building in Hi-tech City, employing nearly 3,000 people. The company plans to begin its operations by the last quarter this year.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Sridhar Babu called on the company’s Managing Director, Dr. David Reese, and National Executive Som Chattopadhyay at Amgen’s R&D Center in San Francisco. CM Revanth expressed pride that a globally renowned biotech company like Amgen chose Hyderabad as its development hub. He stated that this would further enhance Hyderabad’s significance in the biotechnology sector and commended the company’s inspiring goal of serving patients with world-class technology.

He pointed out that more than 40 years ago, Amgen was recognized as a pioneer organization in the field of biotechnology. He said he has no doubt that this new center, stepping into the integration of data science and artificial intelligence, will be a wonderful milestone while it would provide innovative services. He also announced that Som Chattopadhyay has been appointed as the National Executive who would oversee the expansion operations of the company in India.
