Ramya Krishna, a super actress in the Telugu film industry, was a heroine with all the star heroes of Tollywood. She did great powerful roles like Neelambari in Narasimha and was on equal pay like her male counterparts. At one point she was a favorite for both villain and heroine roles.
As Sivagami in the movie Baahubali by S.S. Rajamouli, Ramya Krishna gained international recognition in 2015. The film earned the place of one of the highest-grossing movies in the world with a collection of ₹650 crores.
Within two years, the sequel Baahubali 2 also would break the record for that by earning an income of ₹1788 crores in the global market and catapulting the name of Telugu cinema into records. Though Prabhas earned stupendous popularity with the movie, Ramya Krishna as Sivagami was highly acclaimed.

Though she succeeded, the Hindi film industry has somehow lost Ramya Krishna. She remembers, “The films I did in Hindi did not do well. At that time, I had already become a star in Telugu cinema.
I didn’t feel the need to take a gamble and quit Telugu films for Bollywood. The essence is that one needs to be successful in an industry and since I became successful in Telugu cinema, I kept doing the same there.”

With her innings in Baahubali, Ramya Krishna sees quite a bit of film happenings in the future. The stalwart actress still manages to impress audiences with her outstanding performances in Telugu cinema. She started with cinema in Bollywood, scoring a few films beginning with the heroine role in Vellai Manasu in 1983 followed by Dayavan in 1988, eventually deciding to call it quits with cinema in Tollywood.
Notable names have made some speculations about her non-presence in Bollywood, but she has clarified that if any of her Bollywood projects had failed, that is a major reason why she stayed in the Telugu film industry.
