Aakashvaani: #TheGreatestOfAllTime- Decent Watch. Thalapathy Vijay is unarguably the best actor we have to play a middle-aged man with a teenage kid. He is just too good in the role of Gandhi & did very well as a menacing young guy, Jeevan. It is Vijay’s show all the way. The film has a good first half with enough fun and a good twist as a pre-interval sequence but the second half of the film is just ok with around 30 minutes of dragged-out climax.
Venkat Prabhu came up with a few good twists in the second half & good comedy sequences involving Yogi Babu but the ‘Crowd Pleasing & Convenient’ screenplay technique using CSK & Dhoni is a bit over the top and dragged. Dhoni fans may like these portions immensely. The big minus for the film is the music and song placement. At least two songs would have been edited. Yuvan’s background score is below par apart from 2-3 sequences where he gave a good score. Overall, GOAT is a decent film. Better music and 15-20 minutes of editing, especially in the second half would have made it a good film.
