KT Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi , has made a significant statement regarding the upcoming Telangana assembly elections. He expressed optimism about breaking previous records in the polls and clarified that his party has not formed an alliance with the BJP.
In a recent statement, KT Rama Rao described Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “biggest asset.” These comments came in response to allegations that the Congress is a ‘B-team’ for opposition parties. Rao stated, “Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party are incapable of defeating the BJP, and if they can, they should demonstrate it in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Gujarat. Here in Telangana, he obstructs a party (BRS) that is capable of defeating the BJP. This is why I say Rahul Gandhi is the biggest asset for Modi Ji.”
KT Rama Rao also expressed a mix of excitement and nervousness about the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana. During a discussion at the Telangana Roundtable, he expressed confidence in surpassing the party’s previous electoral performance, saying, “I think we’ll be able to break our previous records, especially because we have already been given two terms by the people of the state, and the same trendline is ongoing. We’ll win more than we won last time.”
Responding to speculations about shadow-boxing between the BJP and BRS, Rao commented, “I don’t think Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi would like to see any third person emerge in the country. They won’t let the country talk of anyone else.” He further challenged Rahul Gandhi to address his party’s own weaknesses, just as he accuses other parties of being BJP’s ‘B-team.’
KT Rama Rao emphasized that his party had previously contested solo in the state and had no intention of forming an alliance with the BJP. He criticized the National Democratic Alliance , calling it a “sinking ship.” Rao pointed out that Telangana’s achievements under the BRS’s leadership, including economic contributions, IT exports, and environmental initiatives, make it the number one state in per capita income in India.
KTR also discussed the loyalty in politics, highlighting that his party had maintained a substantial percentage of sitting candidates in previous elections. He asserted his party’s commitment to working for the welfare of the people of Telangana.
In addition, KT Rama Rao emphasized the state’s achievements, such as being a significant contributor to India’s economy and receiving multiple Panchayat awards.
The upcoming Telangana assembly elections on November 30, 2023, will be closely watched, and KT Rama Rao’s statements have added an intriguing dimension to the political landscape in the state.
