Top South Indian Stars Shine in IMDb’s Most Viewed List

IMDb, the premier global source for movie, TV, and celebrity content, has unveiled its list of the Top 100 Most Viewed Indian Stars of the Last Decade. This prestigious ranking is based on the page views of IMDb’s 250 million monthly visitors worldwide. The list encompasses stars from Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema, underscoring the expanding influence of Indian actors internationally, driven by the surge in streaming platforms that break regional barriers. Among the distinguished names, three prominent actresses from the South Indian film industry have secured notable positions in the top 20.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has achieved the 13th spot on the list. Renowned for her work in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Samantha made a significant debut with the Telugu film ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ (2010), earning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. She has delivered stellar performances in critically acclaimed films like ‘Super Deluxe’ (2019) and ‘Oh Baby’ (2019). In 2021, Samantha gained widespread acclaim for her role in the Amazon Prime Video series ‘The Family Man’ season 2. More recently, she starred opposite Vijay Deverakonda in ‘Kushi’ (2023) and is set to feature in the upcoming spy thriller series ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ alongside Varun Dhawan, who ranks 56th on the list.

Tamannaah Bhatia, ranked 16th, began her career with the 2005 Telugu film ‘Sree’. She transitioned into Bollywood with ‘Chand Sa Roshan Chehra’ (2005) and gained immense popularity for her role as Avanthika in the blockbuster ‘Baahubali’ series, ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ (2015) and ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ (2017). Tamannaah’s performances in these films have garnered critical acclaim and solidified her standing in the industry.

Nayanthara, placed 18th, is celebrated for her contributions to Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema. She made her debut in the Malayalam film ‘Manassinakkare’ (2003). Nayanthara’s Bollywood debut came in the 2023 hit ‘Jawan’, where she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan, further elevating her profile. Her exceptional roles and popularity have earned her a high ranking on IMDb’s list.

These South Indian stars have not only captivated audiences with their remarkable performances but have also demonstrated the power of Indian cinema on a global scale.
