Despite facing hurdles during the initial roll out of Blue Subscription, the CEO of the microblogging site Twitter, Elon Musk is now determined to introduce it. Twitter Blue Subscription gives access to some special features as well as the coveted blue tick to anyone who is willing to cough up $8 per month for the same. In India, its price is even higher the price in the US.
For the users, the monthly Blue Subscription is priced at Rs 719. Elon Musk’s tweet reads, “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means.” Twitter has brought back the official label which separates the official accounts from the impersonators. To avoid scams on the microblogging platform, Musk has said that changing the display name can result in loss of the blue check mark. He also said, “With the new release, changing your verified name will cause loss of checkmark until the name is confirmed by the platform to meet Terms of Service.
Twitter Blue Subscribers will get a Blue Tick of Verification including priority in reach and display on Twitter. This will be applicable only the interested subscribers are willing to pay $8 per month in the US or Rs 719 in India.
The purpose of introducing Twitter Blue Tick for Subscriptions is, in order to suspend fake accounts. Because many fake accounts on Twitter were created. The accounts were quick to manipulate the followers as blue ticks on the parody accounts, making it impossible for people to distinguish between a fake and an original account.
