Typhoon Yagi is causing havoc in Vietnam. 141 people died due to landslides and heavy floods. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced on Wednesday that another 59 people went missing.
The death toll from Typhoon Yagi and its subsequent rain that triggered floods and landslides has climbed to 141 as 69 others remain missing and 100s were injured.
Among the dead, 29 people are from Cao Bang province, 45 people are from Lao Cai province, and 37 people are from Yen Bai province.

Local authorities in Tuen Quang province confirmed yesterday that the dyke river running through Cuet Thong commune was overflowing due to heavy floodwaters, Xinhua quoted the Vietnam News Agency as saying.
National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a warning that the water level of the Thao River will rise on Wednesday morning and cause flooding in nearby areas. The Meteorological Center said, the impact of flood water on rivers in the north is high.
Flooding is more common in low lying and riverine areas in northern regions. It has warned that there is a possibility of flash floods and landslides in the mountainous areas.
