Uddhav Thackeray demands mid-term elections in Maharashtra

Post the takeover by Eknath Shinde in his public appearance today, the chief minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray demanded new elections in the state and said he would not let the rebels use the poll symbol of Shiv sena Party.

He said, ” I challenge them to conduct assembly elections today. If we had done wrong, people will send us  home. And if this is what you had to do, then you should have done it two and half years ago, and it would have been done respectfully. There would be no necessity for all this to happen. “

He further continued his speech saying, ” No one can take the bow and arrow symbol from our party. However, people don’t look at only the symbol, they look at the person who has taken the symbol. “

He also said that he is proud of the 15 to 16 MLAs  who are with him despite threats. This country thrives on Satyameva Jayathe, not Asathyameva Jayathe. He concluded that the supreme court will come to conclusion about the future of Shiv sena within a couple of days and it will also decide on the future of Indian democracy.
