‘Virupaksha’ may have become a blockbuster only because of Sukumar. As per the original story written by Karthik Dandu, the villain of the piece was Shyamala’s character Parvathi ‘akka’, not Samyuktha Menon’s character. It was Sukumar who changed the weak climax.
Once the ‘Pushpa’ director changed the climax, Karthik had to rewrite the screenplay from the beginning to suit the ending. This made him reimagine the scenes involving Samyukta and Sai Dharam Tej.
The film is currently streaming on Netflix.
