The politics of Wanaparthy have spiced up with Congress party ticket being the point of discussion. Election Commission has announced schedule for Telangana Assembly polls, further adding to the debate over Wanaparthy Congress candidate.
Former Minister and AICC Secretary G Chinna Reddy has represented Congress party from Wanaparthy Assembly segment since 1985. He has won 4 times and lost 4 times from Wanaparthy Assembly constituency. He is trying for ticket even this time, but facing tough opposition from disgruntled leaders from his own party.
Several second rung leaders have openly revolted against Chinna Reddy and announced that they will not support Chinna Reddy’s candidature. Telangana Youth Congress president Shivsena Reddy and second rung leader Megha Reddy are trying to get Congress ticket from Wanaparthy.
