1996 Dharmapuri movie review: Moderately Good

Starring : Gagan Vihaari, Aparna Devi
Director: Jagath
Producer: Dasari. Bhaskar Yadav
Music Director : Osho Venkat
Cinematography: Krishna Prasad
Editor : Marthand K Venkatesh

Story:

The story was set in the year 1996. The film is about Suri (Gagan Vihaari) and Malli (Aparna Devi). They fall in love with each other. But suddenly, Malli meets with certain obstacles in his finance. If this goes through a false track, then the village politics also strangles the love story. But the couple is confident in each other and welcomes all the obstacles with perseverance to secure their love and also they commit to getting married. Here, there is a loop when the visitors witness the disappearance of Suri on his marriage occasion. Now, the story is all about what happened to Suri? Where did he go? and what will Malli do now?

Review:

Firstly, the performances of the leads have shaped the entire film in a decent manner. Both their backgrounds in the film are humble. The characters in the film are exactly suitable to the story and the director Jagath has become successful with his narration. The climax is very influential, especially with the action-packed emotions possessed by the female lead Aparna Devi. As the story of the film is a real story, so it looks routine. But all the emotions ripped by the director are perfectly alright. The audience opines that the twist included in the film should have been disclosed in a more thumping manner.

Technical aspects:

Both the lyrical tunes and background music have become plus points for the film, which are rendered by Osho Venkat. The screenplay is decent and production values are too good. Coming to camera work, it is obviously marvelous in the village background. The director’s narration is as nice as pie and there are no deviations in the film too. Cinematography and editing are also fine.

Plus Points:

  • Leads performances
  • BGM
  • Narration
  • Real emotions

Minus Points:

  • Routine story
  • Dull Twist in the story

Overall Review:

The performances of the leads, director’s narration, music aspects, emotions, and the twist included in the movie, story, and other aspects tell that the film is quite good but it needs a pinch of uniqueness.

Rating: 2.75/5
