On Saturday, the senior BJP chief, as well as the Union home minister Amit Shah, hesitantly announced that once the BJP came to reigns in Telangana state it would purchase every single grain of boiled rice produced by the farmers. He said it was the duty of the state government, in which, the TRS government had ceased to work properly.
Amit Shah, on the issue of paddy procurement, said it was the responsibility of the state to buy boiled rice. The state was trying to conceal its debacles by diverting blame and trying to point out the Centre as the baddie on this issue. He commented on the chief minister, saying, “If you can’t do this, then resign. The BJP will take charge and the BJP government in the state will buy every single kilo of boiled rice from the farmers in the state.”
He said once BJP formed the government in the state, it would annihilate all reservations for people on religious grounds, saying such reservations had blemished socially backward groups like the Dalits, tribals and the OBCs. He also said that the freed-up opportunities would give huge benefits to the SCs, STs and BC category assignees, once BJP dismissed reservations for minorities.
Shah promised to the state government saying, “Let the BJP come to reigns in Telangana, and I swear to you, from this stage here today that the BJP will comply with the aspirations of neelu, nidhulu, niyamakalu. I am here to promise today that the BJP will provide a ‘Surakshit aur Samriddh’ government in the state.”
