The controversy going over dairy brand Amul’s entry into Karnataka, is creating trouble for BJP in the poll-bound state. Karnataka people, activists and especially leaders from opposition Congress party have been protesting against Amul’s entry into Karnataka, alleging that it is a plot by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to kill Karnataka’s own co-operative brand Nandini.
It all started with Union Home Minister Amit Shah calling for co-operation between milk co-operative from Gujarat Amul and dairy cooperative from Karnataka Nandini. Recently Amul also started its social media pages in Kannada language, hinting that it is eying Karnataka market.
Protesting against these developments, former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Congress president DK Shiva Kumar alleged that PM Modi is trying to kill Nandini brand to help Amul. This fresh controversy is creating trouble for BJP at a time when Karnataka is going for polls.
