“AP Chief Minister Supports Students’ Overseas Education and Civil Services Goals”

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh recently took steps to financially assist students pursuing higher education abroad and those aspiring for civil services. He sanctioned Rs 41.59 crore for 390 students aspiring to study overseas, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on their families and prevent them from accruing debt.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister released Rs 100.50 lakh for 106 civil service aspirants preparing for UPSC examinations. This initiative marks the first of its kind, emphasizing the government’s commitment to nurturing talent and realizing students’ aspirations.

These funds were directly deposited into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the allocation process. Reddy emphasized the government’s dedication to supporting students, stating, “These initiatives assure parents that the government stands beside them in their pursuit of their children’s dreams.”

In addition to these allocations, the Andhra Pradesh government has reimbursed Rs 9.5 crore in fees for 51 students admitted to universities and colleges in the USA for the spring term. Notably, the state has allocated Rs 107 crore to support 408 students pursuing higher education abroad, prioritizing students from SC, ST, BC, minority, and EBC communities with an annual income below Rs 8 lakh.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to transparency, Reddy contrasted his administration’s efforts with the previous Telugu Desam government’s failure to address payment arrears, thereby emphasizing the current government’s resolve to implement these schemes diligently.

Elaborating on the specifics, the Chief Minister detailed the financial support provided to students pursuing diverse fields across 350 educational institutions affiliated with 50 globally recognized universities. This support extends to reimbursing fees up to Rs 1.25 crore for certain categories of students, along with incentives for those preparing for UPSC examinations.

The announcement witnessed emotional testimonies from beneficiaries, such as Chandra Sai Krishna, who expressed gratitude for the government’s support. Narrating his journey from attending a public meeting addressed by the Chief Minister to securing admission at Monash University in Melbourne, Sai Krishna lauded the initiatives as transformative opportunities for students like him.

In summary, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s initiatives underscore the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment to fostering education and nurturing talent, ensuring that students receive the necessary support to pursue their aspirations on both national and international platforms.
