AP Govt to install 3,966 digital libraries by the end of 2022

In order to provide access to the youth for competitive exams and skill development, the AP government is gearing up to finish the construction of the 3,966 digital libraries by the end of this year. The chief minister of the state, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy told the district collectors to complete the construction work and keep the digital libraries ready for the new year 2023.

He said that the digital libraries will be the sources of training in terms of knowledge and skill development. The Rythu Bharosa Kendras have already become sources of inspiration for various states across the nation in helping the agricultural sector in their respective states. The agriculture wing of the World Bank is touring the state at present and studying the RBKs to recommend the pattern in the countries where the bank is financing the farming community.

The World Bank officials toured the Krishna district with a team of officials from Ethiopia, which had already collected basic data on these RBKs. The state government is expecting the digital libraries also to become a model for other states in empowering the youth in the country. Anyhow, it remains to be seen how ambitious and productive these digital libraries would turn in the red tape-dominated governance.
