In the United States, Apple is increasing the salaries of its employees by 10% or more. The Cupertino giant has said that the company will hike the hourly pay of workers to at least $22 dollars, which is 10% more than what it was last year. Due to the complaints from several workers of the company, Apple has decided to implement a hike in their salaries.
It is also the company’s fair attempt at dealing with inflation and a tight labor market. An Apple spokesman said, “Supporting and retaining the best team members in the world allows us to deliver the best, most innovative products and services for our customers. This year, we are increasing our overall compensation budget as part of our annual performance review process.”
As Apple had previously increased the salaries of its employees in February 2022, the pay hike is taking place for the second time in a year. Along with increased vacation time and better retirement options, Apple retail workers have started unionizing in a small number of stores, demanding higher pay and added benefits. Apple is focusing on annual performance-based pay hikes for retail and corporate teams, according to an email to employees obtained by Mark Gurman.
