Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) approached Delhi High Court over election symbols. BRS party’s symbol is car. BRS approached Delhi HC urging not to allot symbols resembling or similar to ‘car’ to independent candidates.
BRS made this request as it felt that BRS candidates are facing troubles due to car-like symbols in every elections. Several election symbols like auto, road roller, chapati roller, television set and others resemble car symbol. As a result sometimes voters get confused and vote for these symbols, harming BRS candidates prospects.
BRS had earlier approached Election Commission of India over this issue. As BRS leadership felt that, EC is not acting on the matter, it approached Delhi High Court.
