Chandigarh airport to be named after Bhagat Singh

Chandigarh airport will be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the revolutionary Indian freedom fighter, who sacrificed his life for the nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made this announcement in the ‘Mann ki Baat’ episode aired on Sunday. Sep 28 is the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh  and PM took an opportunity in his ‘Mann ki Baat’ to make the announcement honouring the legendary freedom fighter. 

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagavat Singh Mann welcomed PM’s announcement to name Chandigarh airport as Bhagat Singh airport. Punjab Assembly had passed a resolution in the past to name the airport on Bhagat Singh.

Bhagat Singh is one of most celebrated and inspirational freedom fighter, who is loved and remembered by the Indians all over the world. Though it has been close to 90 years, since he was martyred, Indians proudly remember him as symbol of rebellion, selfless ness and sacrifice. He is an inspiration for the crores of Indians. Naming of Bhagat Singh airport will be cheered by all Indians.
