Congress MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that TRS MLAs and their followers have become commission agents for the ‘Dalit Bandhu’ scheme. Speaking to media at Huzurnagar after conducting a meeting with all sarpanches of the Suryapet district on Monday, he fired on TRS leaders over corruption in Dalit Bandhu scheme.
“KCR is bragging that he is providing one-time capital assistance of Rs.10 lakhs per SC families to establish suitable income-generating schemes without bank loan linkage and settle in life. But Dalit Bandhu scheme is benefiting non-Dalit TRS functionaries more than the Dalits as they are collecting huge commissions. If KCR is really committed for SCs welfare, Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries should be selected through Grama Sabhas and not through TRS leaders recommendations,” said MP and former TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Uttam alleged that TRS MLAs, MPs, MLCs and second rung leaders are collecting huge commissions to select the beneficiaries of Dalit Bandhu scheme. The really poor eligible SC families are being neglected and are being forced to pay huge bribes. The scheme is not empowering the poor Dalits, but turned TRS leaders into commission agents and making them richer.
