Coronavirus is on towering rage again in all parts of the world. The cases have been increasing day by day as we saw earlier. Even though there is a decline in the positivity rate, new Covid-19 cases are crossing the minimum 500 mark per day in Delhi. On Sunday, the national capital recorded 517 new cases.
In the last 24 hours, 261 patients have recuperated from the infection and were discharged from the care Centres, but there are no deaths recorded. As of now, the entire city has a total of 1518 Covid active cases. On Saturday, the positivity rate was 5.33%, with 461 new cases and 2 deaths.
Up to Sunday, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the city is 18,68,550, and the death toll is at 26,160, while the recovery rate shows a total of 18,40,872. The no. of people in Delhi-NCR reporting someone getting Covid in their close social network has increased by 500% in the last 15 days.
The DDMA is likely to conduct a meeting on Wednesday about how to handle the abrupt rise in Covid cases in Delhi. The Deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia said that there is no need to worry as hospitalization is low. Being an education minister, Sisodia also instructed schools to obey the standard operating procedure which was proposed by the government, if they identify any Covid case. As there is a surge in Covid-19 again, doctors and health experts in Delhi have urged the official to revive the implementation of masks mandatory.
