Vikarabad MLA Gaddam Prasad Kumar has been officially declared as the Telangana Assembly Speaker, as announced by Protem Receiver Akbaruddin Owaisi. This appointment received widespread congratulations from Chief Minister, ministers, ruling MLAs, and opposition MLAs.
Gaddam Prasad Kumar’s election to the position of Telangana Speaker was a unanimous decision. The nomination process saw only one candidate, with Gaddam Prasad Kumar representing the Congress party. A senior leader in the Congress party, Kumar brings with him experience from his previous role as a minister in the united state of Andhra Pradesh, where he held responsibilities for Handloom and Small Scale Industries.
Born in Marpalli village of Vikarabad district in 1964, Prasad Kumar pursued education until intermediate in Tandoor. His political journey gained momentum during the Telangana movement when he contested and won the Vikarabad constituency by-elections in 2008 as a Congress candidate. He continued his success by securing victory in the 2009 elections. In 2012, Kumar Reddy appointed him as the Minister of Handloom and Small Scale Industries, showcasing his dedication to public service and leadership.
