After a long duration of working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Several companies have come back with their employment in offices one by one. And one among them is Google. Recently, Google has asked employees to attend the office starting this week.
At the same time, the company is providing free electric scooters to the employees in order to encourage them to return to the office. In Silicon Valley, the tech giant always offered shuttle bus service for free-of-cost to its employees. In an opinion to launch the new “Ride Scoot” program, Google has joined hands with e-scooter manufacturer Unagi. Due to this, maximum US-based employees of Google benefit from its compensation for the entire cost of a monthly subscription to Unagi’s stylish Model One Scooter which is being sold for Rs 75,000.
David Hyman, who is the CEO of Unagi said that the purpose of proposing an act of the Ride Scoot program is to encourage Google employees to return to work or at least closer to the bus stop to travel to and fro to the office without any struggle. The program is arranged for Google employees at Mountain View headquarters and the other US regions like Austin, Kirkland, Irvin, New York City, Playa Vista, and Seattle.
Not only providing free scooters to employees but also, Unagi has an idea to arrange booths at several Google offices with a target to sign up employees for a scooter subscription for a month at a cut price of $44.10 per month + $50 enrollment cost. Also, the total money will be reimbursed by Google.
