American automotive aftermarket parts provider Advance Auto Parts opens its Global Capability Center today.
The Hyderabad center is the second largest such center outside of the firm’s headquarters in North Carolina in the United States and it employs over 800 people at present.
KTR, who is the IT and Industries minister of the Telangana state, informed Hyderabad’s growing technology talent has the potential to make the city the hub for automobile technology. He requested entities like Advance Auto Parts to make the city the single stop shop for all their business purposes.
Rama Rao said, “This is the first automobile company that has launched its technology presence in Hyderabad and is the second largest office outside of its headquarters in the United States. Due to this, the company has joined the list of marquee entities like Amazon, Google and Microsoft.”
He also said that the state is working with sustainable mobility companies in order to achieve the target. They will also organise the Formula-E in February 2023 and also plan to host the Electric Vehicle Summit around the same time. The CEO and president of Advance Auto Parts, Tom Greco named Hyderabad as a mobility cluster and said that they select the city for setting up the GCC post going through multiple choices such as Taipei, US and Bengaluru in the country.
Greco said, ” The vibrant talent pool and growing infrastructure are the major factors which turned us zero down on Hyderabad to set-up our GCC. In the previous year we had the highest growth in the history of the firm and this has come mainly from the distributions of Hyderabad center.”
