As reported by the Union Health Ministry today, India’s Covid cases tally reached 4,30,47,594, with 2,067 new cases reported today. The active cases raised to 12,340 and the number of deaths has increased to 5,22,006 so far.
The health ministry said that the active cases contain 0.03% of total infections. In the active Covid-19 caseload, an increase of 480 cases has been registered just within 24 hours. Whereas, the daily positivity rate was registered at 0.49% and the weekly positivity rate was 0.38%.
On the other hand, a total of 4,25,13,248 members have recovered from the deadly virus. And the death toll is at 1.21%. The cumulative doses inoculated in the country so far under the countrywide Covid vaccination have exceeded 186.90 crores. Among the 40 new fatalities, 34 are from Kerala, 3 from Maharashtra, and the other 3 from Mizoram, Nagaland, and Uttar Pradesh respectively.
The health ministry stated that due to comorbidities, more than 70% of deaths are taking place. However, it is more necessary to wear masks if we have to move in the public for any need, and also we should maintain social distance. Many cities or states like Delhi, Maharashtra and etc are re-implementing ‘mask mandatory’ due to the iterated surge in Covid cases.
