Covid-19 is not over yet, and it is booming in certain parts of the world. India recorded 2,858 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of Covid cases to 4,31,19,112. The active cases dipped to 18,096, as reported by the Health Ministry. With 11 new deaths recorded today, the number of Covid-related deaths rose to 5,24,201.
The ministry said that the active cases consisted of 0.04% of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was 98.74%. In the span of 24 hours, a decrease of 508 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload. The daily positivity rate was recorded as 0.95% and the weekly positivity rate was recorded as 0.82%.
Covid-19 vaccination coverage in India exceeded 191.15 cr which has been achieved through 2,38,96,925 sessions. Health ministry reports show 1,04,06,091 people have received the first dose of the vaccine, while the second dose was administered to 1,00,28,814, and 50,07,651 people have received the precautionary dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
