It has been confirmed by the ECB that India will play two T20 warm-up games against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire on their tour of England this year. They will play the two matches on July 1 and July 3. Both the games will happen at the same time with the delayed 5th and final Test between India and England, which was kept on hold owing to the pandemic.
The Test match which was canceled after Covid cases were reported by the Indian contingent, will take place from July 1-5 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. India led the series 2-1. Derbyshire made an announcement a few days back that India would travel to The Incora County Ground to play against Derbyshire in a Twenty20 tour fixture on July 1, at 7 pm. The number-one ranked T20 side in the world will progress their ICC Twenty20 World Cup arrangements against a Derbyshire side.
While on the other hand, Northamptonshire said, “Northamptonshire will welcome India to Wantage road this summer for a one-off T20 tour match.” The first practice match is scheduled to be played at the Incora County Ground in Derby, while the second match will take place at the County Ground in Northampton.
Starting from July 7, India and England are set to perform 3 T20Is, before facing each other in as many ODIs from July 12. Also, India will face Ireland in two T20Is on the 26th and 28th of June this year.
