To discuss several key issues related to the state, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Modi’s dwelling place yesterday. Their meeting comes with the issues related to the Polavaram project, the Kadapa Steel Plant, the rationality in coverage of beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act, and others.
The agenda of presidential elections is about which both the chief minister and prime minister interchanged perspectives. The YSRC would play a crucial role in these polls, as the votes of the party will be of help to the ruling BJP. To ratify the revised cost estimates of Rs 55,548.87 crore for the Polavaram project according to the technical advisory committee meeting’s perspectives on Feb 11, 2019.
He said Rs 31,118 crore would need to be spent on the project, of which Rs 8,590 crore is for construction and Rs 22,598 crore for rehabilitation. Jagan also solicited Modi to clear the bills in total and not component-wise and for direct transfer of the R&R package amount to the beneficiary accounts without late. Jagan further said that the state government has lost revenue due to the bifurcation and Covid situations and solicited Modi to settle the credit limit for Andhra Pradesh. Jagan also sought the help of the Centre for the speedy completion of the Polavaram project at the conclusion of their meeting.
