On Monday, the TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha strongly denounced the allegations leveled by two Delhi BJP leaders, MP Parvesh Varma and ex-MLA Majinder Singh Sirsa, linking her name to the multi-crore liquor policy scam in Delhi. Post participating in a Homam performed by TRS Ibrahimpatnam MLA Machireddy Kishan Reddy at his farmhouse on the city outskirts, Kavitha said the allegations would remain just that. “I have no connection to what was said in the Delhi excise policy scam. The BJP controls all of the investigative agencies and can hold any investigation that is necessary. We will cooperate fully.”
She claimed that the BJP was attempting to smear the reputation of chief minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao’s family by leveling baseless allegations. She said herself as a fighter. She said, “These are baseless allegations. Nothing good will come of it. Today you are in power, you want to use agencies, the media, and everything possible to avoid the opposition. I am so sorry you are messing with the faulty people.”
In front of the media, she said, “Jai Hind, Jai Telangana.” Her publicist issued a statement to the media, saying that Kavitha had committed to asking BJP leaders Parvesh Varma for defamation and Manjinder Singh Sirsa for making wrong accusations against her on the Delhi liquor policy scam. It is also said that Kavitha will move the court seeking an injunction order against those making the allegations.
