All parties in the Munugode byelection fray are hopeful for a higher voter turnout this time around. Nearly 82.15% turnout was reported in 2014 which rose to 91.30% in 2018. As a consequence, the TRS, BJP and the Congress are hopeful that the turnout would increase further on the 3rd of November.
In the last election in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, in the year 2009, Munugode sement recorded 77.10% turnout. The second rung leaders of TRS, BJP and Congress gathered caste and village-wise voter lists and tried to approach them for support.
It is said by the senior leader from Munugode, Kailas Netha that they had enhanced the voters to exercise their franchise in the 2018 elections. They were in touch with voters from the booth level. They are expecting an increase this time as locals living elsewhere are likely to take part in the voting.
The eventual winner should scrape through with a marginal gap. People are annoyed with group politics of certain leaders and the adamant nature of some candidates. This is bound to get reflected in the voting pattern.
