An American subscription streaming service and production entity, Netflix is looking forward to settling the issue of the account password sharing process across the world, in a strive to uplift its revenue. The OTT giant said that shared passwords have been used by more than 100 million households.
So, in the approaching days, Netflix will not confine this but make rules. As a result, it charges the owners of the major account an additional fee for every sub-account or password sharer. The officials of the company have analyzed this feature in the regions of Chile and Costa Rica.
In order to add subaccounts for at least two people outside the home, the company is charging an extra fee. Though this is an effective plan made by Netflix, it has received mixed reactions across the globe.
As Netflix is an expensive OTT platform, it is subscribed by only upper-middle-class people and an elite circle in India. And there is a chance for the people to feel that the company would lose even the current customers owing to such new directives. So, let’s see how far the company can achieve its goals.
