It has been just 5 months since the launch of Ola Electric company’s first e-scooter. And just within this short span, the company has acquired the foremost position in the fast-growing electric vehicle market in the country. Indian government’s Vaahan portal data shows, that 12,689 e-scooter units were registered by the company in April, higher than the previous segment leader, Hero Electric.
Over the previous month, Ola registered a 39% growth in April. Okinawa Autotech registered about ten thousand e-scooters at the second spot. While Hero Electric registered 6,571 units, it is placed 3rd.
Ola founder and CEO Bhavish Agarwal tweeted, “Ola market share: No.1! We’re shaking up the incumbents and vested interests. They better focus on their products rather than fake narratives against us! Customers and markets have voted for facts and truth. We’re just getting started.” Anyway, the company is going to launch its e-scooters in global markets, and it will launch an electric car within 2 years, the company said.
