Again there is a hike in the prices of petrol and diesel across the country today. In Delhi, both petrol and diesel prices were increased by 80 paise each.
In Delhi, petrol costs Rs 101.81 per litre and diesel costs at Rs 93.07 per litre. Whereas in Mumbai, the price of petrol is Rs 116.72 while diesel costs Rs 100.94. This is the 9th hike in 10 days as daily price revisions resumed after an interlude of a record 137 days on March 22 this year. The increased prices of fuels take the total to Rs 6.40 per litre so far.
As the United States is considering the release of up to 180 million barrels from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve over several months to calm soaring crude prices, the prices of crude oil dived more than $5 a barrel on Thursday.
