Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to conduct an upper-level meeting with chief ministers on the 27th of this month, at 12 pm to consider the pros and cons of the Covid situation in the country, through video conferencing. The meeting is most likely to be attended by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and senior officials from PM’s office.
A presentation on the current Covid situation, the vaccination drive, especially the precaution doses, and the surge in cases in various states will be broadcasted by Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan. PM Modi has chaired several meetings earlier, with Chief Ministers and District Magistrates to get acquainted with the situation.
As reported by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India’s gross Covid vaccination coverage crossed 187.67 crores, with over 2.65 crore first doses of Covid vaccines inoculated for the age group of 12-14 years, as of now. Within the last 24 hours, India registered 2,593 new Covid cases, which led the active caseload to a total of 15,873. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.75%, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.54%, says Health Ministry.
