Ponniyin Selvan is a historical fantasy drama that features Karthi, Vikram, Trisha and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles. Maverick director Mani Ratnam helmed the film and it received a massive response in the Tamil region. So far, it has completed 18 days of its theatrical run and has bagged Rs 450 crores at the box office worldwide.
According to the latest trade reports, the film has grossed US $56 million (Rs 461 cr) at the worldwide box office fill 3rd weekend. The film has surpassed Vikram movie and became all-time no.2 Kollywood grosser worldwide and it is just behind the film 2.0.
Ponniyin Selvan is now heading towards Rs 500 crore mark worldwide. The film’s collections saw an incline during the weekend. In Tamilnadu, majority of the theatres are screening Vikram and Aishwarya Rai starrer in its third week. It is also performing well in the Overseas market.
