Technology now-a-days, has been playing a crucial role in cyber crimes and it is resulting in disadvantages more than advantages. Especially in the case of online transactions, there has been so much fraud happening hacking the accounts and stealing money.
Coming to the point, the same issue has been faced by a prominent producer Boney Kapoor. His credit card was stolen by fraudsters and they misused it by taking out a hefty amount of Rs 3.82 lakhs and they used it in different transactions.
Getting heard of the news, immediately, Boney Kapoor has blocked his card and filed a complaint with the Mumbai police under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. And the case is under investigation currently.
The producer told the police that neither anyone asked for his credit card details nor did he receive any phone call regarding this. Police suspected that someone had collected the data while Boney Kapoor was using his card. There is also an additional information that the producer’s money misused to the account of an entity in Gurugram. Further details are awaited.
