According to the news published by the US multinational courier delivery giant, Indian American Raj Subramaniam would be the new Chief Executive Officer of FedEx from June 1st, after the renunciation of the current chairman and CEO Frederick W Smith.
Smith said, “As we look toward what’s next, I have a great sense of satisfaction that a leader of the caliber of Raj Subramaniam will take FedEx into a very successful future.” A statement from Subramaniam’s bio on the official portal of FedEx says, Subramaniam is responsible for strategic direction for all FedEx operating companies like FedEx express, GrdEx Ground, GedEx freight, FedEx services, FedEx office, FedEx logistics and FedEx Dataworks, as he will be the president and CEO -elect of FedEx corporation.
He lives in Memphis, Tennessee, the global headquarters of the company. He accomplished his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Syracuse University, and a Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. He serves on the board of directors of FedEx corporation, First Horizon Corporation, the U.S Chamber of Commerce’s China Center Advisory Board, FIRST, U.S – China Business Council.
