One of the Bollywood star actors Akshay Kumar has come up with an adventure thriller Ram Setu. For the past few months, he has been facing duds with his earlier movies. Now, let’s see if Ram Setu garnered good attention from the viewers or not.
Story
Akshay Kumar, who played as Aryan Kulshreshta is a well known Archeologist. He gets promoted as a Joint Director of the Archeology department for his outstanding work. Nasser, who played as Indrakant, commits to construct a project named Sethusamudram, ruining Ram Setu, but for that to happen, Indrakanth should obtain a scientific clearance proving Ram Setu is a natural formation. So Aryan is given the task of ascertaining whether Ram Setu is formed naturally or artificially. The remaining story revolves around the journey of Aryan in exploring it.
Review
Director Abhishek Sharma put his efforts well showing the explorations of the construction of older Indian heritage Ram Setu, which was done thousands of years ago by Lord Rama. He has showcased several facts about the bridge construction and the sequences are appreciable. Akshay Kumar, as an Archeologist, performed well and just nailed his character. On the other hand, Jacqueline Fernandez’s character as the supporter of Aryan is also framed well.
Being a Telugu actor, Satyadev has given his best in his Bollywood debut movie. But a lot of fiction is shown in the film and it couldn’t help the film to get good marks. The character of Akshay Kumar is not so sharp and it remains one of the negative points of the whole movie. Many of the sequences are predictable in the film and they didn’t surprise the audience and there are no thrilling aspects in it. At last, the VFX work is not up to the mark, which is one of the main pillars of a film to gain a good word of mouth.
Technical Aspects
The production values of the film are exceptionally good and the cinematography too. But the music done by Daniel B George is not at all fitted to the film’s genre. Coming to the editing part, it is fine but few of the sequences are cut in a consecutive manner. Also, the narration part is regarded as the backlog for this adventure thriller.
Plus Points
- Story
- Akshay Kumar
- Jacqueline Fernandez
minus Points
- Narration
- Music
- VFX
- Screenplay
- Lack of thrilling aspects
Overall Review
Story-wise, the film is good, but narration has become the main negative remark for it. So, Ram Setu is regarded as a half-pie and Akshay Kumar has also failed to gain positive remarks for his movie again.
