Ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the team Delhi Capitals have chosen Shane Watson who is the former Australian versatile cricketer as an assistant coach for their team. Watson will soon get together with the team’s coaching personnel such as the Head coach Ricky Ponting, Assistant coaches Ajit Agarkar and Pravin Amre and the bowling coach James Hopes.
After being appointed as an assistant coach ahead of IPL, Watson shared his experience, saying, ” The IPL, the best T20 tournament in the world. I’ve got unforgettable memories as a player, starting from the achievement in 2008 with Rajasthan Royals, led by the incredible man Shane Warne, RCB and then CSK, and now, Iam happy to hold coaching responsibility. It’s really great to work under the legendary batsman Ricky ponting. He was an excellent leader as a captain, and now I got a lucky chance to guide the team under him.
Further he added, “He is one of the best coaches in the world now. So, I really feel excited to learn more tactics from Ricky.” Watson had attained dual world cup-winning campaigns in the 50-over-format in 2007 and 2015. He was honoured as The Player of the Tournament during the T20 World Cup in the year 2012.
