Shivani Rajasekhar, an actress known for her roles in Telugu cinema, revealed in a recent interview that she turned down the offer to star in the film “Uppena” due to the presence of bold and intimate scenes in the script. She expressed uncertainty about her comfort in performing these scenes, which led to her decision to reject the role. Subsequently, the script underwent changes, and the lead role was then offered to Krithi Shetty, who accepted it.
Buchi Babu Sana, the director of “Uppena,” later toned down the boldness factor in the script. The film, which also marked the debut of Krithi Shetty and Panja Vaishnav Tej, went on to become a blockbuster, grossing over Rs 100 Crore. The movie’s success was further bolstered by the music of Devi Sri Prasad.
Shivani Rajasekhar’s decision highlights the challenges actors often face in balancing personal comfort levels with professional opportunities. Despite missing out on “Uppena,” Shivani continues her career in the film industry, alongside her sister Shivathmika Rajasekhar, who is also an actress.
