South Indian films dominating North; Here’s  what various trade experts feel

In very recent times, South Indian films have been paving their way to success when compared to North Indian movies. They are creating sensation not only in their home region but also in other languages, especially in the Hindi belt.

We can justify these statements by stating some examples that the recent release of the Bollywood films Beast and KGF 2 couldn’t impress the Telugu audience, but some recent South Indian films like Pushpa, and RRR have attained incredible positive outcomes and sustained as the bestsellers at the box office worldwide.

One of the star actors in Bollywood, Salman Khan cannot digest why Hindi films do not grab the attention of the audience in the south region like south films prosper in the North. Film Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said he believes the glory for the success of regional cinema is obtained because of its squeaky clean entertainment. Adarsh also commented about the south films’ box office success, saying, “These films provide righteous entertainment, and at the same time, they are pushing the envelope.”

KGF 2 fame Yash opines this shift hasn’t happened overnight. In an interview, he expressed, “What worked today is people got acquainted with our way of storytelling, our cinema, so it hasn’t happened overnight. That is been there for a few years and eventually, they began getting through the content, the expression of the direction, and everything. And then we got a straight instant to connect with Baahubali, SS Rajamouli sir, Prabhas they took that step followed by KGF-it also entered with a commercial angle, and it is important to show a film with logical connections.”

Accepting his words, Taran Adarsh said, “Hindi films are not interested beyond the Bandra to Versova crowd. What about the rest of India? What happens to those who deserve wholesome entertainment? It is high time that Bollywood people wake up.”

However, trade experts believe that still, the nation has takers for ‘larger than life films’ if they set the right emotion and story.
