Telangana Congress backs Mallikarjun Kharge

After two decades Indian National Congress (INC) is conducting election to choose its leader. Veteran leader Mallikarjun Kharge and Thiruvananthapuram MP and sauve communicator Shashi Tharoor are contesting for the top job in grand old party. Both Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are campaigning and touring around the nation. As part of the campaign, Kharge visited Hyderabad on Saturday.

Mallikarjun Kharge arrived in a special flight at Begumpet Airport from Mumbai. He got a grand welcome from Telangana Congress leaders on his campaign visit to the Telangana capital. TPCC president Revanth Reddy, MP and former TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, former Ministers Shabbir Ali, G Chinna Reddy, Nagam Janardhan Reddy, former MPs Mallu Ravi, Ponnam Prabhakar and others warmly received Mallikarjun Kharge.

All the leaders who are eligible to vote in Congress party president elections have attended the meeting addressed by Mallikarjun Kharge. Saying that he is contesting elections with everyone’s support, Mallikarjun Kharge appealed to all to vote for him.

Mallikarjun Kharge is considered as the favourite in president elections as he is said to be backed by Gandhi family. With Telangana leaders receiving warmly and giving him a patient hearing, it is almost certain that most of the leaders from Telangana Congress are backing Kharge and will vote for him.
