The Telangana government has chosen to recognize and felicitate Padma Vibhushan awardee Chiranjeevi, the Mega Star of Telugu cinema, in a celebration that echoes jubilation throughout Tollywood. The prestigious Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award, was bestowed upon Chiranjeevi on January 25, 2024, marking a momentous occasion in the world of Telugu cinema. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy extended a personal invitation to Chiranjeevi and Venkaiah Naidu, another Padma Awardee, for a special felicitation event.
In a commendable move, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao had the honor of meeting and honoring Chiranjeevi at Annapurna Studios and Venkaiah Naidu at his residence in Jubilee Hills. The felicitation ceremony, scheduled for February 4, 2024, at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad, will not only acknowledge Chiranjeevi but also recognize other Padma Shri recipients from Telangana, such as Dasari Kondappa, Gaddam Sammaiah, Ananda Chary, Kurella Vitalacharya, and Kethavath Somlal, for their significant contributions to literature and education. This state government accolade complements the upcoming function planned by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, reflecting the widespread acknowledgment of the exemplary achievements and contributions made by these Padma Awardees across various domains.”
