Uddhav Thackeray resigns as the CM of Maharshtra

The chief minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray announced his resignation from his honorable post on Facebook lives on June 28th. He has resigned from the MLC post too. He made the announcement right after the Supreme Court refused to order a stay on the floor test tomorrow.

The chief minister expressed his thankfulness to the people of NCP and Congress who supported him. He also said he is satisfied that they have officially renamed Aurangabad to Sambhaji Nagar and Osmanabad to Dharashiv. He said, “I had come to power in an unexpected manner and I am going out in a similar fashion. I am not going away forever, I will be here, and I will once again sit in Shiv Sena Bhawan. I will gather all my people. I am resigning as the CM and as an MLC.”

Former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis hopes to be back in power with the help of 39 Shiv Sena rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde, independents, and legislators of smaller parties.

Uddhav Thackeray further said, “I am happy to fulfill my father’s wish of renaming Aurangabad and Osmanabad. Today, there was a cabinet meeting and I am satisfied that my life’s wish has been fulfilled.
