A war of words is going on between Bihar Chief Minister NItish Kumar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Nitish Kumar made a scathing remark against PM Narendra Modi, questioning “Who knew Modi before 2002 Gujarat riots?” By making this remark, Nitish Kumar has not just once again highlighted the troubled past of PM Modi, but hit BJP where it really hurts.
Bihar CM made this statement in response to Amit Shah’s criticism that Nitish Kumar became popular by sitting on the lap of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan but not following the stalwart leader’s ideals. “While Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan sacrificed power and strived for people, Nitish Kumar sacrificed all principles and values for power,” said Amit Shah during his visit to Bihar. Amit Shah presented Nitish as a power hungry politician. This has irked Nitish Kumar who hit back.
Terming Amit Shah as a political novice who started his political career just 20 years ago, Nitish said that he does not need validation from Shah. Nitish stressed that he went to jail during Emergency and earned the love and support of Loknayak Jayaprakash. Nitish Kumar had recently ditched BJP and formed Government in Bihar along with RJD and Congress.
