Users of Android, iOS, Web, and Desktop have got an opportunity to use new emoticons as per their wish. Meta-owned WhatsApp is now introducing the ability to react to messages to people. The current version of message reactions includes 6 different types of emojis such as Laugh, Like, Love, Sad, Surprised, and Thanks.
People can use these emoticons for chats and groups. When users tap and hold a message bubble, they can react to a message by picking an emoji. WhatsApp has also provided an opportunity to view who reacted to any incoming and outgoing message by clicking the reaction button, which displays a reaction info section that lists all people with the emoji they used to respond to the message.
Someone who reacts to a user’s messages can receive a push notification, which is allowed by default but have also a chance to disable notifications for reactions by opening your notification settings in the app. As per reports, the feature will take a minimum of a week to reach the users.
The app is working on the ability to view status updates within the chats list in a future update of the application. Currently, this feature is not applicable for beta testers, as it is still in its development stage by the technicians.
