After acquiring a grand slam in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections this year, Yogi Adityanath has owned an honourable Chief Minister position in the state. He has taken his oath as the iterating Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow today.
The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Assam CM Himanta Biswa sarma, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, Defence minister Rajnath Singh, Haryana CM ML Khattar, Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur and others. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared stage with Yogi Adityanath. He expressed confidence that the Yogi Adityanath’s government will definitely write another new chapter of progress in the state by fulfilling people’s aspirations.
Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were sworn in as deputy chief ministers along with 50 ministers with cabinet and state ranks. The Yogi Adityanath cabinet 2.0 made space for fresh faces by dropping as many as 24 ministers from the first term of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. Dinesh Sharma who earlier served as the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Satish Mahana who was the minister of infrastructure and industrial development have been dropped from the Adityanath cabinet.
BJP acquired 255 seats in UP with its allies in the state in the 2022 Assembly elections. The chief minister is expected to carry the momentum of the party’s electoral triumph to fulfil the poll promises and render a further development of the state in his 2nd term.
